New week

I just got up and am going to have breakfast now. The snow is unfortunately already melting here... Oh well, today it's "City Time" ;-)

Sunday afternoon

I woke up to snow this morning and went out straight after breakfast. Now it's time for cake and a good book! I'm halfway through the third Gabriella Pierce novel and although this one doesn't quite live up to his two predecessors I can't wait to know how it ends.

Girls Day

I just got back from our walk and thought I'd show you some pictures from friday. My mum was in Hamburg and we decided to have a girls day yesterday. So we went into the center for coffee, chatting and some shopping.  Filling up one's energy reserves of course always comes first and we went to Campus Suite, where I was quite shocked to hear that lactose free milk costs an additional 40 cents. The storemanager was eager to explain that Starbucks' coffee was more expensive and so one doesn't have to pay extra for special wishes, but seeing as Campus Suite was so much cheaper he thought it was only logical to have that added on to the general price. Well, they could definitely at least write that somewhere... I never noticed. But before I bore you to tears or you think I'm some sort of penny pincher, I'll move on to tell you about my purchases ;-)
I really like Woman&Home magazine. I know it's for older women, but I feel there's so much more depth to what they write. I mean, as far as you can call that depth. They have good health tips, the women are totally inspiring and I never feel negatively influenced by what they show or say.
I also got a new book called "What's new pussycat?" by Alexandra Potter but I'll tell you about that in a separate post. If you are looking for a really good mascara, I can only recommend YSL's "Shocking". It elongates, thickens and darkens my eye lashes better than any other product I ever used. I'm also a firm believer in using good eye cream. Chanel's "Beauté Initiale Eye" works best for me right now. If you're lucky you'll get some nice samples, too :-P

Hello Sweden!

Hej Hej from Sweden!

We arrived back in Scandinavia at 4pm, had peppermint tea and delicious semlor - for those who don't know them, look here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semla) - and will now go for a much needed walk in the dark. After sitting for so long we all really need some excercise!

Sometimes life's like a walk in the park...

Contrary to what people might think, we do happen to get some sun here on and off :-D
And when we do, the city is a really beautiful place and people start to smile and greet each other again. Yesterday we were lucky enough to have some good weather and I sure hope it goes on like that! At the weekend I'll be off to Sweden once again and I'm really looking forward to it!

But when I got home I snuggled into my OnePiece-suit and warmed up ;-)  (Looks quite spooky, huh?)

The difference between men and women

Guten Morgen! Good morning to all of you!
Whilst I was cooing over my nice new scented candle and deciding which nail varnish to put on, my boyfriend was perfectly happy with a box of cigarettes and a bottle of beer. Of course the true Hamburg version :-D It got me thinking, is it true that in general women are far more prone to luxury and having it nice than men? Over the past few weeks I noticed that all the guys I know don't really bother keeping their flats particularly tidy and clean as long as they're single. They don't mind sleeping in small, uncosy rooms (well, at least they seem uncosy to me) and don't have the same pressure to maintain a certain lifestyle. I guess I have to take into account, that I don't really socialize with the so-called high society people. At least not when it comes to close friends. And maybe a lot of trend oriented men pay the same attention to things as us women. But the guys I do don't and I think that's actually a really good thing. And whilst I wouldn't at all consider myself superficial or greatly money oriented, I do enjoy a certain lifestyle and sometimes I wish I had more of that easy-going attitude as it leaves you far less stressed and dissatisfied.
